Corazon Aquino’s Burial Today, August 5, 2009

“Cowardice is infectious, but courage can also become infectious.” – Mahatma Gandhi

This is it. They’re taking her to her resting place in Manila Memorial Park. Can you believe there’s almost 200,000 people attended and trying to be there for Cory until the very end? It’s amazing how Filipinos can do such when they have so much passion towards something or someone.

If only we can all do this in time of crisis, in time of need. Where everyone’s praying for Peace and Orderliness in this country. Where people can be patient to achieve a goal such as what we are doing for the past 4 days. Does one GOOD person needed to die for us to realize this sad reality? We have the freedom since 1986. Yet since 1992 after Cory Aquino’s term we did nothing but to put it to waste. We fought for Power and befriended corruption. Voting as if it didn’t matter. Voting who’s less evil instead of voting for someone who deserves and knows how to use the Power bestowed upon him/her. The saying that goes ” With great Power, comes Great responsibility” is not just in movies. See, Cory knew how it worked before she stepped up as a president. She knew Filipinos would need a president to lead, just like a baby needed a mother. To “lead” so that the others would “follow”. So simple yet so complex in every aspect. Cory Aquino sacrificed the life of his husband Ninoy Aquino. See, she had a choice to stop him, because we all knew how she loved him so much. But she understood him. She knew that letting Ninoy go back to our country, he’d be doing it for a Greater Good. She sacrificed her life for the same reason: Greater Good.

In 2010 election, I pray for a clear goal. I pray for wisdom in each Filipino. I pray we all do the right thing. Because those are the things I feel what Cory’s been praying for until her last breath. There maybe no more Cory Aquino in this world but, we have a “Cory Aquino” in each and everyone of us. Because like Cory Aquino, we are all only humans. The only thing that separates us with heroes like Cory Aquino is, she chose to make a difference. I think we can do that too. Just like what everyone’s been doing now in the streets, infront of the TVs, infront of the computers, infront of the cameras. We can still change for the better. It’s not too late to do the right thing.

I’ll start by registering as a voter in 2010. I’ll start by thinking and praying for a candidate who deserves to run this country and can make this country move forward for the better. What about you? How can you show you have a “Cory Aquino” inside of you? :)

Cory Aquino Believed in Filipinos. I think we should all prove she’s right.

Rest in Peace Cory Aquino.

Welps, her battle is over. Just around 3am this morning, former president Cory Aquino died due to cardiac arrest. Though everyone thought she’s gonna make it, I’m just glad that in her last few days, she was sleeping peacefully until her last breath. I shouldn’t be this affected, yet I am. For she was a BIG part of history and she made everything happen. So here’s to her successful fight over the years of service to the ungrateful Filipinos.

Aquino, who was battling colon cancer for about two years, died at 3:18 a.m. of cardio-respiratory arrest, after being confined at the Makati Medical Center for more than a month due to loss of appetite.

Her legacy was the restoration of democracy and its institutions in the country when she led a bloodless, military-backed people power revolt in 1986 that toppled the dictatorship of then President Ferdinand Marcos.
